day three.. just a little late.

Your Parents

Okay so I've had this post open for like 4 days and I have worked on it whenever I could but today, I will finish. But what a fun topic! I feel like I could just post pictures of them and leave it at that. But I won't. My parents are too great to just say nothing.

Let's start with my dad. He's hilarious and such a good sport. Me and my sisters are always giving him such a hard time about things and he always puts up with it. My dad does so much for me and if it weren't for him, who knows where I'd be!

Caribbean cruise 2010

Seminary graduation

Angels landing

My dad, the avid skier.

Until one day when he tried to snowboard. Possibly the funniest day of snowboarding EVER.

Now for my mom. I would dare say she deserves mother of the year award. Or life. Whichever. She always puts others first.. such a motherly characteristic! She's always going out of her way to make sure I have everything I need. And sometimes want. :)

Cancun 2008

FREEZING figure 8 races. (Only really classy women can pull off camo. haha)

David Archuleta

Lost in the beautiful mountains of Idaho. Not a bad place to be lost, right?

California - Summer 2010

My parents are the bomb dot com. No question about it. Through their trials and everything else life as thrown at them, they've always pulled through. I look up to them for that. I also want to thank them for bringing me up in the church. They never forced it upon me but they did help me realize that it was the true church and it's thanks to them that I have been able to build my testimony to what it is today.

Cheers for the number one rents of the world! Love them SO much.

I know I'm a couple days late... but at least I'm not a dollar short! haha

I haven't forgotten.

I promise.

Life has just gotten busy for the last few days!

Much love.

day one

Introduce Yourself With Pictures and Words

Seeing that pictures seem to really fit my fancy, I chose to use more pictures and less words. Therefore, in this post you will see honestly about 30 pictures of my life. Most are older. A couple are newer.

Since I'm introducing myself... how about I start with a picture of myself. I think it's a splendid idea. This is one of my favorite senior pictures. It proves I'm not all shy. I have sass. :)

My grandparents are my heroes. They've been through it all. Love them to pieces.

One day I had my life all planned out. I was going to be an endodontist. That changed into being a dental hygienist which changed into being a respiratory therapist which turned into having no idea what to do with my life

I love having excuses to get all dressed up and girly.

I have some of the most amazing friends. All of them have been through some crazy things and are some of the toughest girls I know. Let's here a woot woot for them! Thanks for everything you've taught me girls!

I always laugh when people say "I would never get a tattoo... BUT IF I DID....!!!" haha And I'm one of those people. This is the tattoo I would get. But would never get. The one with the blue shoe :)

My family is my EVERYTHING. Seriously though. I would be lost without them. My parents are incredible and hopefully I can raise my kids the same way they raised me and my sisters. Cheesy-ness recognized. Growing up with three older sisters was the greatest. Especially since they were all way older than me so I never had to put up with the cat fights and clothes stealing. Okay that's a lie. It still happened but I wouldn't take it back! And I love having nieces and nephews. They are my sunshine! PS Bridget had baby Jada today! Yay! I can't wait to go home to her!

I got married in Vegas once.

Just kidding

Muddy buddies are my weakness.

When I was a wee little one, I enjoyed dangerous things and playing in the dirt. Really.

I made it through High School. Something we should all be proud of. Can I get a "Hoo-Ra" for the Class of 2009? Oh yea, and someone let some mice go at graduation. Funniest thing ever. See video below.

Soccer was my thing from age 5.

I WILL get married here someday.

There were 7 of us and we were inseparable.

Best summer ever. We lived on the water.

tell me when to go!

So Saturday night while I'm at Ashlee's, my momma texts me and says "Ugh! I can't make myself go back to work but there's no one to do anything with. haha! What are you doing this fine evening?" I decided it would be much more fun to answer with a video. I just didn't know it would take so much work. hahaha So here is take one, take two, take three, and take four of our video for Momma Berg. Hopefully someday I'll have a daughter as cool as me! Except let's hope she gets better dancing skills than me because clearly I have none. At all.

Now feel free to laugh your head off. Because you know you wish you had as much fun as us. A little dance party in the bathroom? Best part of the weekend. Love my Ash-hole and Mad-ass'n!
. . . . .
PS -- Maddy might kill me for posting this but it's thanks to that fact that I did it!

Need a laugh?

Okay so Syd and I are sitting at work watching funny YouTube videos when we come across this one. If you have to pee, I suggest you go before watching.

It is a little bit slow to get started but when you get to the guy in the yellow, hold on!

Bahaha!! I literally could not breath, my eyes were watering, and I almost peed my pants.

As of now..

I have so many things on my mind!!

Feathers in my hair...........Earthquake in Japan............Todays spendings............Free Asphalt Pie!..........Clinicals..................itunes renovation

Some things I have a lot to say about, but most just a thought. So let’s start at the beginning with my very favorite part..!

I was trying to show the real color of the feathers but it didn't work out very good. They're a bit more maroon-ish. One day my mom showed me this picture...

and every since, I’ve NEEDED feathers in my hair! Granted that hers are WAY cuter, I still love mine. My next feather addition will hopefully be more like hers but until then, mine are perfectly satisfying!

. . . . .

Next on the list… I went shopping. Shocker, huh? Ha but I only went because I had a 40% off coupon at Christensens! I could have gotten $130 pants for $80! (Which is still a lot, I know. But better than $130!) After trying on all sorts of pants, capris, shorts, sun dresses, shirts, and shoes, I could not find ANYTHING. I called my mom because I was a little in shock. She advised me to save my money for Europe. Bah! Yea right. Me? Save money? Never. That stuff burns a hole through my pocket like you couldn’t imagine. So I guess you could figure that I walked out with a new purse and a pair of shoes. Oops! :)

. . . . .

Do you ever have your iPod on shuffle and songs come on and you think to yourself “Why do I even have this song?” This happens to me often. I need to just go through all of my music and delete what I don’t want. But it’s much easier said than done. And do you know how long that would take?!

. . . . .

FYI: It’s not fun to wake up to a text that says “Scary about Japan. It sounds pretty bad. :( Has anyone heard from Erika?” and an email that says “Hey! Have you heard anything? Is Erika okay?” What in the world? I had no idea what was going on. I jumped up and ran to turn the tv on. Crazy… I’m glad Erika is okay and my prayers and thoughts are going out to the rest of the people of Japan!

. . . . .

Last night, Ash and I decided to call in some sticky fingers at wingers for dinner. We got free asphalt pie. Again. This has begun to be expected when we go to Wingers. We may have left a Thank You note on the kids motorcycle. Keep ‘em comin, bud!

. . . . .

Today I’m working 8 hours.. Great way to start Spring Break, eh? Wanna know what’s on the agenda for tomorrow? Clinicals. Monday? 12 hours of work. Tuesday? 8 hours of work. Wednesday? Guess. Eff Spring break. There is nothing break-ish about it. Haha Just kidding. I need all the cash flow I can get to pay for Europe!

. . . . .

That all the excitement and debby-down-ness I have for today. Hopefully you don't think I'm a Negative Nancy. Or a Bummed Out Beatrice. Or an Exhausted Ethel. Or Boring Bonita. I really am a happy go lucky kind of gal! I promise my next post will be a bit more exciting. More pictures, less words. That’s how I like em. :) TTFN!

speaking my peace

First, I want to share a pretty funny definition I found on urbandictionary today. Such simple entertainment for a girl like me..

Retard in Aluminum Foil: What a lady's knight in shining armor becomes when she really gets to know him.
"I thought he was my knight in shining armor. Turns out, he was just a retard in aluminum foil!"

Bahaha! I don't know why that is so funny to me but it is. I guess it's just my "Riley-tard"-ness coming out.

. . . . . .

So anyways... back to the reason I decided to write this post. Prepare yourself. Men, take notes. haha This could be good. So my dearest mother and I both sit at work and chat with each other on the Book (facebook). Seeing that we're both SAL (Single And Looking), this was one of our random yet very important conversation topics of the day..

Me: Where is cupid when you need him?
Mom: Scratching his bare butt
Me: Well looks like we need to give him a little call. This girl needs him.
Mom: Ok - here's what I've been trying to figure out lately.
Me: Do tell
Mom: Why do relationships have to be such a game. I know you have to take time to learn about each other and know each other. But how has that turned into such a game. Call, don't call, wait, be aggressive, take it easy... Oh come on. If you like them, get the move on!

Words from the wise? I think so. But seriously. What is this game and who signed me up?! haha Last I checked, I was only signed up for the KISS game. No, I'm not a trollop. It simply stands for Keep It Simple, Stupid. Now I would like to kindly ask the Society of Love to please take me and any others who wish to do so off of the game list and add us to the KISS game. Doesn't it just sound like more fun anyways?! Better yet, let's just abolish the game all together. All in favor, say stupid cupid.

Bahaha Okay. Feel free to judge. But it had to be said. Momma, I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Momma for a Minute

Warning: This post contains a lot of reading! Woops! Enjoy.. :)

Last weekend was so much fun! Not only did my mom come down but she brought little Miss Hadlee, my favorite 5 year old ever! Hadlee absolutely loves St George. She has so many fun cousins down here to play with. Plus, last Sunday when I was talking to her on the phone, I asked her if she missed me and when she was telling me she started crying because she wanted to come down so bad! How precious is she? So since my mom was already planning on coming down the next weekend, Hadlee was able to come with her and be a big girl for a few days!

They started the weekend early... and when I say early, I mean EARLY! They were on the road by 5am on Friday! Just call my mom
Wonder Mom. On the way down, Hadlee was sure to inform my mom that you know you're getting close to St George when the mountains are red. She's 5! How does she remember that? Anyways.. the Black Pearl arrived in perfect time to send Hadlee with her cousin Ava to play her little heart out while her Grandma and Aunt Ri went for a relaxing morning at the spa. :) My momma and I both got facials (which by the way, I highly recommend!) and then momma berg got a pedicure and I got a manicure. We left that place feeling so relaxed and... fresh. haha It was lunch time and if you know us Bergesons, you know we like our food. There was only one issue. Due to our amazing facials, we had no makeup on. Oops! ha But we were hungry so... we went for lunch anyways! We decided to go to Jazzy Java which ended up being perfect because in the darkish lighting, no one could tell our faces were naked. :) Let me just inform you of something right now. Eating Jazzy Java is like having a party for your taste buds. So tasty! Everything we got was extremely yummy. Especially the sweet potato fries. And if you fear that you won't be able to fill up on one of their sandwiches, fear not. They are large. I don't know how my mom attacked this thing. It was like 5 inches tall!

After lunch, we went back to my apartment to freshen up so we could go the Dixie State baseball games. It felt so good to go to a baseball game with my mom! It was just like old times! We have always been really good baseball watchers. haha Plus, how can you not enjoy sitting in the sun while you know the other half of the state is dealing with snow? Lucky for us, the baseball game was a double header! Wahoo! Between the games we went and picked up Hadlee from her cousins. She looked like a little Rag Muffin. Which is proof that she had fun. We took her back to the baseball games with us and now here is where I wish I could post a super cute picture of me and little Hads at the baseball game. She insisted on sitting at the top of the bleachers. haha So there is a cute picture of us sitting up there all alone but unfortunately, i'm a retard and didn't have the SD card in my camera so.. there is no way to get the picture on my computer until my papa comes down and brings the cord for my camera. Dumb. So just remember, the picture is coming! Someday! Now if you know St George, you know that if you are looking for something to do, there are about 284 ice cream places to go to. So of course, after the games, that's how we chose to end our night. With a little taste of Menchies. After getting Hadlee all ready for bed, my momma left for Overton, NV to stay with her parents for a couple nights which left me as Hadlees momma til Sunday.

Now Saturday rolls around and the morning comes super early. I had clinicals at 6 which meant that I had to get up and get ready and take Hadlee to Sarahs where she could play until I got done at 2. Clinicals... oh clinicals... are awful! I could never really work as a CNA. But I managed to tough through it this time. Only 16 more hours to go. Yuck. When I picked Hadlee up, we went and got showered and went back for more baseball. :) Can never have enough! While we were getting ready Hadlee said, "Can we go get some... spicy kids?" haha spicy kids? She meant sour patch kids. So I told her we could go get some before the game. Once we were in the car she said "Are we going to get squishy patch kids?" haha Oh my gosh!! She cracks me up! I just wanted to keep her here forever! So here she is at the baseball game, eating her squishy, spicy kids.

After the game we headed over to uncle Blaines for a pizza party. Sarah was thoroughly entertained with the camera on my phone so here are a few hilarious pictures. haha Brace yourself.

When we left the pizza party, I decided it was time for a little chill time. We went back to my apartment and watched Toy Story 3. Earlier in the day I told Hadlee we could go get ice cream again so when the movie was over, the first thing she said was "Now can we go get ice cream?!" haha I couldn't turn her down so we jumped in the car and headed to get some more ice cream. Who cares that it's like 9:30 or 10:00, right? Menchies is probably only like 4 blocks from my apartment but when we got there, I looked back and Hadlee was done for. She was so tired! I shook her leg a little to wake her up and asked her if she wanted to go get ice cream or just go home and go to bed. Her eyes opened for a second and then just closed again and she didn't say a word so I said "K we'll just go home and go to bed" but she was not going to let that happen! She opened her eyes wide and sat up straight and told me she was awake for ice cream. You can see the tired in her eyes but she loved being able to put whatever she wanted on her late night treat!

I think it's safe to say that Hadlee slept great that night. Belly full of sugar and all! So Sunday morning comes and it consisted of Despicable Me and Frosted Flakes. Oh the life of a child..! Oh and I have to mention that when I was helping Hadlee get dressed, she said "I want to stay here for a lot of nights.." She was loving her little vacation! My mom came back from Nevada to come to church with me and you better believe we took little Hads to the College ward! haha She did really good though. We might have left after sacrament meeting and came back for RS but what do you expect with a 5 year old? :) Hadlee drew the worlds cutest picture in Relief Society. It's of the baseball game. Keep in mind that she is only 5. I'm pretty sure I was still struggling with stick figures and how to spell my own name at that age.

Notice her spelling she did all by herself, the people in the stands watching, the cars in the parking lot (lower left corner), the perfect placement of the bat in the batters stance, and the pitchers foot back and ready to throw. Isn't it great? ha She's hilarious.

We treated ourselves to a little Five Guys for lunch. It was super tasty and Hadlee couldn't get enough of the free peanuts. She put these ones on my forehead and told my I was a Triceratops. Bahaha!! Where does she come from?

I hated that my mom and Hadlee had to leave... We had so much fun! I would take Hadlee any weekend! She was great entertainment to have around. I hope there are more weekends like this to come!

Moral of the story: I love my family!! All of them! And I love it even more when they come spend time in the sunny city with me.
