Shower numero uno.

Last Wednesday, I had my very first shower. They are much more fun than I ever anticipated!
This shower was for family and family friends and oh baby did we have a blast.

Let me begin with the cute decor by my sisters and mother...

Here you see a real cute "date jar" by my sister so that when Kel and I want to go out, we can just pull out a stick from the jar and it will have a date idea written on it! So fun and such a good idea!

Look at these cute pictures. Davis and Bott is so excited for our wedding that they even framed our pictures and hung them on the wall. We are loved. ;)

Here is our buffet style dinner and the ADORABLE banner Bridget made.

These are just some close up pictures of a couple of the items. First, my favorite. The trough. You will also see that adorable item at the reception. Next, a fun display of pictures, flowers, and of course, mason jars.

(This new blogger is REALLY throwing me off so don't mind my change in format for a moment. And, I don't know how to get rid of the white box around the whole post. Ignore it.)
Above, are some loved ones eating. Everyone loves those pictures.

The games we played were pretty hilarious. Well, at least I thought so. Maybe that's just because I knew all the answers and it was funny to watch everyone guess. I have to give a shout out to Kellys sister, Alexandria. She won both of the "how well do you know the bride" games. Well done.

This game was hilarious. We had to guess what wedding related word was on our forehead. Grandma Bev was a hoot!

My sister Caramie lives in Omaha (yes, we are going to be neighbors next year!) and was pretty bummed she couldn't be there. We were pretty bummed, too. But you know there is a solution for that these days! Kind of. She Just hung out on the wall.

Kelly and I were SO spoiled. I couldn't believe our gifts! I just can't wait to get into our very own home and put everything in it's place. Am I weird?
That's all the pictures! I tried to keep it short... But I need to thank everyone that came! It honestly was so much fun! I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would have so many loved ones there at once.
Thanks for your fun and your support and your help with the beginning of the Whites!

A special shout out to Momma, Bridget, Alyssa, Des, and Niki.
They made all the magic happen, and I know it wasn't easy.

LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL!!

(that's an arrow... pointing down)

It was just over an hour ago. And you know what? That pick-me-up I was so in need of was delivered :)

That's why I love our church.

I went to my interview with my bishop (for my temple recommend! HOLY!) and this picture was on his wall

Given that this picture is clearly meant for a more spiritual situation.. but it still helped me today. Whether it's wedding planning or making it through the day or whatever might be giving you a dose of grumpy-itis.. It will be worth it.

a real (deep) secret. volume three.

It has been QUITE the week.

I thought I was sick of wedding before but I didn't know it could get worse.

And it has.

I'm running away...

Call me Debbie Downer but.. Isn't this supposed to be one of the best times of my life?

I need a pick-me-up. Quick.

Tag!

I've been tagged!
Oh no!
I guess if this gets me (and others) to blog, then that is aye-okay.

Here are the rules

1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.
6. No saying "If you're reading this, you're tagged!"

11 random things.

1-- My choice of eyeliner has been a Sharpie marker since the 9th grade. I don't think I would know how to use real eyeliner anymore.
2-- My lover and I are getting married exactly one year from our first date. Half on accident.
3-- In the 5th grade, I beat all of the boys and girls in my elementary school in the high jump.
4-- I was not only crawling and walking at 10 months, but running too!
5-- As luring as it sounds to move to Omaha (NOT!!), I am more than excited to start our marriage adventure there.
6-- In high school, I rarely repeated an outfit. ha! That's almost embarrassing.
7--I have reached the point in life that when I see cute recipe cards, I get excited. This also happens with cute dishes, cute rugs, cute mirrors, and anything else a wifey-woman enjoys.
8-- I would choose chocolate or caramel (mostly caramel) over fruity something ANY time.
9-- Rain on my wedding day would be a dream come true. Please, Mother Nature, please.
10--
I have a lot of obsessions. Blankets, purses, journals (even if I only write in them 3 times a year), picture frames, and panties (I'm a bit sad to sacrifice my panties for the temple but eternity with my honey and the next step in church life is SO worth it).
11-- Never in my life have I been gifted with the ability to dance but deep down inside, I secretly wish I could. Not just so I could feel sexy from time to time, but also so I could be a goof like usual and not look so uncoordinated .

My questions from Haley.

1. what is your favorite type of candy? Caramel, chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, and caramel. Seriously, it's ridiculous how often I crave it... and how much access I allow myself to it.
2. What was your favorite thing to do when you were little? Direct quote from my mom "Play in the dirt."
3. Snowboard/ski? Well... snowboard. I wish ski. That's how I was raised but I followed the trend and found myself on a board.
4. If you had to pick one place to live for the rest of your life (besides where you are now) where would it be? Minus the dream answer like Cancun, I would vote for a small suburb outside of a large city like Miami. Beach is close, city is close, but I'm outta the way.
5. Who has had the biggest impact on your life? Grandma Marsha. It's hard to even explain her! She was so calm and so under control. Her love and want of a relationship with each of us was so deep and we could feel it! Her tender voice telling us stories and playing games and taking time to teach us makes me always want to be better and be that kind of lady.
6. What is your favorite nail color? Almost anything when it's freshly done! Mostly the colors that stand out without looking <17 or >30.
7. Do you have any weird routines that you perform daily? Checking my alarm clock every night, even if I haven't touched it. And having it set on no times ending in 0 or 5. And there are always two alarms set, just in case. Currently, the times are 6:46 and 6:53.
8. Are you petrified of something? Being in an earth quake and Kelly being on one side of a huge crack and me being on the other and I can't get to him. haha Lame Riley.
9. Who is your celebrity crush? I suck at celebrities. Kelly knows more than I do. I remember a celebrities name for about 2 weeks after watching a movie or something they're in and then it's gone from my mind. Therefore, no specific celebrity crush.
10. What is one thing you couldnt live with out? Chapstick. If it is upstairs and I am downstairs cuddled in a blanket, watching a movie, half asleep, I'm in bad shape. But I will get up to go get it.
11. What is your favorite thing to relax/de-stress? Sleep. :) if that doesn't work, go for a jog. Or bike ride.

The truth

The phrase
"we need to"
makes me want to fling myself against a wall.

I never thought I would get to this point but tomorrow we hit the one month mark and I am officially to the point where I don't give a flying pigs arse how this wedding turns out.
Okay.
I care how it turns out.
But I'm so sick of decisions and busy work and calling people and paying people and emailing people and searching for a knick knack and creating a product and finding the most efficient way and I'M JUST READY TO CALL KELLY "HUSBAND"!

...and that is rileys little secret for tonight...
