As I sit here and eat my 5th cookie of the day, I decide that I want to share a little thought I had.
It's a church thought.
It's Sunday.
It's fitting.
Today in church I was playing with my moms new ipad and decided to read Elder Uchtdorfs Forget Me Not talk. It's such a warming talk and at the end he says..

"Sisters, we love you. It is my prayer and blessing that you will never forget that you are truly precious daughters in God's kingdom..."

Now I just need to remember to come back to that comment on those days that I'm feeling down in the dumps and overwhelmed.
Thank heavens for our amazing church and church leaders!

Can you believe it?

Ta-Da!!
We're engaged!

Want the whole engagement story? Then keep reading!

Tuesday night I got a phone call from the BC airport telling me that I still have my introductory flight certificate that I haven't used (which is true!) and that they were wondering if I could come on Thursday night to use it before it expired at the end of the year. I liked that idea so the lady told me I could bring a couple friends. Of course I invited Kelly and then I told my mom she could come if she wanted. Sneaky momma said, "I think I might!" So, off to the airport we go!

Here we are, standing by the plane before we went on our ride. I honestly was not expecting a proposal at all! I figured I was the one that invited him, this was MY outing, plus... he had me convinced that the ring wouldn't be done for another week. Notice his hand in his pocket hiding the ring box.

Now, in the meantime, there was a team working hard to get everything ready.

Even my baby had to help!

Now we're on the plane and we're flying all around Brigham, looking at the Christmas lights. There was a little bit of fog and it was so stinkin pretty! As we're all looking around, the pilot says, "What's that?" We all look out the window to see and I say ,"I think it says something!" As we get closer I say,"five.. eleven.. twelve." In my head I'm thinking, "Huh.. That's our wedding date. Why would someone put that on their roof? No one can see it except little planes like us.." Then Kelly says, "What's that?" I turned to answer him and tell him it's our wedding date and what do I see? My sweet, sweet boyfriend holding a gorgeous ring! And I mean gorgeous! He tells me a bunch of precious things (which I have to admit, I was a little in shock and can't remember most of it..) and then asks me if I will marry him.

Obviously I said yes. :)
Isn't he such a sneaky boy?

Here is a picture of what I saw from the plane. This is taken from the ground but let me tell ya.. It looked SO perfect and clear from up there, too!

When we landed, my whole family was there to greet us. Also, such a surprise! I wanted to see the setup and thank everyone for their help so we drove over to check it out.

And now we are happily engaged! Yahoo! It's still kind of weird to think.. haha but I am so stinkin excited!

So, in case you didn't catch it.. There will be wedding bells on May 11th!
Save the Date!

MM! I love my baby!

a real secret. volume two.

I hate that moment when you're finally getting around to folding that laundry that you have put off for the last 4 days and that creepy, crawly, 8 legged creature comes scurrying out on a break towards safety.
I suddenly go into killing mode as a toss all of my freshly folded clothes out of the way (I would die if he crawled into my clothes and I unexpectedly found him one morning while getting dressed), undoing all the work I had just done, and mumble to myself "oh, HELL no."
That poor spider doesn't stand a chance.
He is quickly squished with a shoe and flushed down the toilet.

Eww.. heeby jeebies.

Don't spiders know Halloween is over and it's time to go into hiding until next October?

Snow will do this to you.

This morning I decided I was going to write a post with pictures and all but then... the comfort of my bed re-captured me.

I think a pre-church nap is needed.

Stay tuned.. a good one will be coming soon. Until then, laugh at this picture because it is my story today.

a real secret. volume one.

Two things that will cheer up a Riley, no matter what the situation

  • when Victoria shares her secret and spreads some love with new panties
  • when she comes home from a long weekend of traveling and there's a note in her room that says "Welcome home sweetheart! I can't wait to see you tomorrow! Love you! -Kel" with the most gorgeous bouquet of long stemmed flowers.

I was lucky and got both in one weekend.

Where do I start?

It's been far too long. How do I always let this happen? Let's be honest, spending so much time with the boyfriend doesn't help. But I'm okay with it :) I'll sacrifice a few blog posts for it.

Is anyone else suffering the feeling that August and September were only a week long? Oh well, at least we're finally into my favorite time of the year.

You know how at the end of almost all of my posts I say "I promise pictures next time.." Well this time, I'm fulfilling that promise. Finally. So hold on because here comes some pictures from a few of our fun outings.

One weekend Kel and I went up to his cabin for a night with his family. And there was maybe some Park City shopping in the morning... But this picture is of our LATE, COLD 4-wheeler ride. Our coats are awesome, aren't they?

Every summer needs a trip to Bear Lake. Ours may not have gone the way planned but we still had fun. We camped on the beach and got shakes like usual. And this... is our initials carved into the table at LaBeau's. Excuse my boyfriend and his need to destroy things. This was for a good cause.

The next weekend we ended up going to a friends old farm house. We played games, made yummy meals, and the best of all, floated the river.

A little golfing trip with Kel. The sport I will never figure out.

Oh boy. And here comes the circus. haha! Here we are at the "pre-show" with our clown noses.

The elephant showing us the painting she just did.

This was hilarious. My dad went out and bought some popcorn for us all to share. Kelly was holding it and Braylie and Tayah would stare him down, grab a handful in each hand, then turn around and shove it all in there mouths at once. They were so shy with Kelly and never warmed up!

I have to admit, the circus really is all it's cracked up to be. Do I sound like a little kid yet? haha

There you have it! I just wish I was better at taking pictures because we've done so many other fun things. One day I'll remember to take pictures of corn mazes, football parties, dinners, camping, bowling... ya know. One day.

Oh, and here are some videos of the circus. The long one of the zebras and horses is for my niece, Hadlee. She's a huge fan and couldn't come to the circus because they moved to Omaha for a few years. But when I told her on Skype that I had a video for her, she about had a come apart. Gosh I love her!
