This morning I decided I was going to write a post with pictures and all but then... the comfort of my bed re-captured me.

I think a pre-church nap is needed.

Two things that will cheer up a Riley, no matter what the situation

• when Victoria shares her secret and spreads some love with new panties
• when she comes home from a long weekend of traveling and there's a note in her room that says "Welcome home sweetheart! I can't wait to see you tomorrow! Love you! -Kel" with the most gorgeous bouquet of long stemmed flowers.

I was lucky and got both in one weekend.

Where do I start?

It's been far too long. How do I always let this happen? Let's be honest, spending so much time with the boyfriend doesn't help. But I'm okay with it :) I'll sacrifice a few blog posts for it.

Is anyone else suffering the feeling that August and September were only a week long? Oh well, at least we're finally into my favorite time of the year.

You know how at the end of almost all of my posts I say "I promise pictures next time.." Well this time, I'm fulfilling that promise. Finally. So hold on because here comes some pictures from a few of our fun outings.

One weekend Kel and I went up to his cabin for a night with his family. And there was maybe some Park City shopping in the morning... But this picture is of our LATE, COLD 4-wheeler ride. Our coats are awesome, aren't they?

Every summer needs a trip to Bear Lake. Ours may not have gone the way planned but we still had fun. We camped on the beach and got shakes like usual. And this... is our initials carved into the table at LaBeau's. Excuse my boyfriend and his need to destroy things. This was for a good cause.

The next weekend we ended up going to a friends old farm house. We played games, made yummy meals, and the best of all, floated the river.

A little golfing trip with Kel. The sport I will never figure out.

Oh boy. And here comes the circus. haha! Here we are at the "pre-show" with our clown noses.

This was hilarious. My dad went out and bought some popcorn for us all to share. Kelly was holding it and Braylie and Tayah would stare him down, grab a handful in each hand, then turn around and shove it all in there mouths at once. They were so shy with Kelly and never warmed up!

I have to admit, the circus really is all it's cracked up to be. Do I sound like a little kid yet? haha


There you have it! I just wish I was better at taking pictures because we've done so many other fun things. One day I'll remember to take pictures of corn mazes, football parties, dinners, camping, bowling... ya know. One day.

Oh, and here are some videos of the circus. The long one of the zebras and horses is for my niece, Hadlee. She's a huge fan and couldn't come to the circus because they moved to Omaha for a few years. But when I told her on Skype that I had a video for her, she about had a come apart. Gosh I love her!

a bit of... anything.

I've needed to post for a while now haven't I? Let's get my random thoughts out there. One by one. Sometimes these kind of posts are my favorite. It's like getting a sampler at a new restaurant rather than having to choose just one item.

My momma and I just got home from The Help. I loved it. Everything about it! Except I think something is wrong with me. Usually tears would be streaming down my face but not tonight. Something's broken. Maybe I'll call the plumber and tell him my eyes have stopped leaking.

I have the rest of the week off. Thank heavens...

Ya know Grandpa Shelt? The one in the picture of my header? He's not doing so good. Like really not good at all. I'll probably be spending my weekend off in St George. I can't complain. I just wish it was for a better reason. Grandpa Shelty has hung in there for a long time. Time for a new kind of blessing to come over our family. ♥ ♥

Tonight I went on a run. Four miles. That might be a warm up for some of you but holy moly! Pretty sure I won't be moving real fast tomorrow.

My bedroom is coming together nicely :) just waiting on that dang bedspread. Can you hardly stand the anticipation of pictures? haha

So that Kelly character I mentioned earlier... He's in Hawaii. FML.

Life is lonely without my sister wife. aka Caramie. Between her and her family I used to be entertained at all times. Now I've turned back to facebook. Save me now.

I found my photographer incase I ever get married. Go ahead and look.

I have a love hate relationship with pinterest. I love seeing all the cute and fun ideas but when I find one I want to use or "pin" sometimes I'm selfish and don't want anyone else to see it. I want it to be mine. I'm a brat.

Well kids. I hate posting with no pictures. Pet peeve? Anyways.. that's all for tonight. This girl is a tired one. Pictures are promised next time :)

I got a job!

It was worth the wait.

I am now an employee of Perry Dental! I will be assisting Dr Mackley. I start this Monday and will work part time while I train and such for the first month or two and then full time kicks in! I really can't wait!

Wanna know something else that's great about the job? I went and started training last Monday and Tuesday in the Ogden office and do you know what was waiting for me when I got home?

Isn't that cute? Oh and with the flowers was a card. It was congratulating me on my first day at my big girl job. haha It also said that there was a need for a celebration. Guess who was inside? Taylor Swift. Yep, you bet your bottom that we're going to T Swift in September! That Kelly.. He's a good one. I think I'll keep him.

Last night we went on a little 4 wheeler ride. Kell made me drive so I would be the one eating dust. Little does he know that dust is one of my favorite items in the food pyramid.


This was a funny moment but.. I think it's one of those had-to-be-there kind of deals so I'll spare you the reading and let you laugh at our classic arm extended photo.

the girl with the ugly foot

That would be me. The ugly foot chick. Or maybe it's attractive to hard core men..? I can only hope..

So here's the story. We're sitting in my aunts yard while my nutso uncles are lighting the fireworks and I decided that I felt a little out of the loop from my cousins. I make my way over there and sit on the curb by them and literally not more than 10 seconds after I sit down, my foot has become the victim of an evil spawn of Satan. One of the big aerial fireworks tipped over and shot red burning fireballs at our family. More than a little dangerous. Before I even knew there was a firework being lit, my foot had been burnt. I looked down and my whole foot was white. I think it's easy to say I went into a bit of shock. haha Everyone was kinda running around, protecting the kids and laughing about how that really just happened but then they saw poor little Riley Bug sitting on the grass, crying, trying to take her shoe off. haha Next thing I knew, I was being rushed in to the sink where we ran cold water for like 45 minutes.


Ugly huh? Can you tell where the strap of my shoe was? haha Nasty, nasty. And you should see my shoe! It's basically exploded. So sad.. I love those silly sandals. And they must love me back because they took one for the team and saved some of that ugly foot of mine.

Now that I finally have my longboard road rash under control, it's time to manage this baby. Lots of sitting by the air vent, lots of cold packs, lots of burn cream, and lots of gauze later, I bet this thing will be looking prettttty attractive. No?
